Ferry Crossing Discount. If you are thinking of a trip into France this year, we have a bonus for you. We have arranged a 10% discount on all crossings made by Sea France, by car or motorbike. All you have to do is quote the code “BISTRO” when you book online. This discount applies to all standard fares and also to day trip and 24 hour returns. The discount cannot be used in conjunction with any other discount or offer. You will need a receipt from us to show at the port otherwise you will have to pay full fare..
Do you use a satellite navigation system on your journey through France? Do you like interesting traffic free roads? If so I have a few routes through France from Calais, Le Havre and St Malo down the West side to Bordeaux and beyond, that avoid the major routes and motorways. If you would like details please email me on chardwickegarner@aol.com. I can provide most formats or a printed route. I also have the names and addresses of some good overnight stops too, and if you have a favourite stopover that you would like to share please let us know.
For travellers who like to peruse maps of France and plan routes there is a great little piece of software that allows you to use Google maps to plan a route that you can then download into your TomTom or Garmin satnav. The software is called TYRE (Trace Your Route Everywhere) and is free, but you can make a donation to the author if you find it useful. It is a brilliant piece of easy to use software and I was happy to send him some money!
